We met in school thanks to a random class shuffle and sheer luck. One minute we were strangers in the same building, the next we were talking like we'd known each other forever. Neither of us knew it then, but fate clearly had a very long-term plan.
Pune, 2022
Let's be honest; the flirting was always there. We even declared Hancock as our favourite movie - great chemistry and terrible timing. For years, that joke stayed painfully accurate.
Amar always knew what was happening. Tanya thought he was just being goofy and refused to take him seriously. Cities changed, careers happened, timelines refused to cooperate - but the banter never took a day off.
When things finally aligned, Amar made a solid pitch: even if nothing else, the two of us together were guaranteed to have fun. Hard to argue with that.
One cafe date, a long park walk, and zero awkward moments later, Tanya realised she'd been completely, expertly, patayofied.
Himachal, 2024
Our first adventure together took us to the Kinnaur Kailash range. We backpacked across the most gorgeous mountains at freezing cold temperatures. Magical starry nights, cosy bonfires, bumpy bus rides and mountains that we could almost touch. A memory we truly cherish.
Goa, 2025
Amar always knew this was happening, so when he finally decided to propose, he did it the right way.
On Tanya's birthday in Goa, what started as a "casual surprise" turned into a full-blown plan.
After a day out, we walked back into a beautiful beachside room filled with flowers, balloons, and champagne chilling on ice. No crowd, no spotlight, just the two of us and Amar asking the question he'd been waiting to ask.
Tanya said yes (obviously). Amar was right (again).
Best birthday gift ever, and the easiest decision yet.
